Explore a roof replacement budget using Tulsa-area asphalt prices. Change the roof size to see how the total moves.
A regional budget with the assumptions in view
Tulsa-area asphalt replacement figures run $4.50 to $7.00 per square foot of roof surface for planning.
This calculator starts with a 2,000-square-foot roof surface. Ordinary tear-off is included; damaged decking, unusual access and complex roof details can move the actual cost outside the example.
Change the area or measurement type to understand how a budget changes. A roof inspection is where the work becomes specific to your property.

Keep the example, or enter a roof area you already know. You do not need to measure or climb the roof to use this tool.
Keep the 2,000 sq. ft. example, or enter an area you already know. Roof footprint means the area covered, not total living space.
Keep the 6:12 example unless you already know the pitch. Pitch helps check material suitability.

Pricing assumptions and calculation
May 2026 Tulsa-area installed asphalt rates: $4.50–$7.00 per square foot of roof surface, including ordinary tear-off and disposal, underlayment, drip edge, ridge caps and ventilation on a sound deck.
The example starts at 2,000 square feet of roof surface. Footprint mode uses the selected pitch to calculate sloped area. Damaged decking, steep-roof labor, difficult access and complex intersections need separate allowances.
This asphalt model excludes commercial membranes, wet insulation and flat-roof drainage work.
Floor space and roof size are different measurements
The area covered by a roof when viewed from above is its footprint. The surface follows the slopes, so it is larger than that flat projection. A house’s total living space is a different number again: an upstairs room does not necessarily add another roof over the same footprint.
Choose ‘Known roof surface area’ only when that is the measurement you have. The footprint option uses the selected pitch to illustrate the extra surface on a simple roof. Real valleys, dormers, overhangs and changes in pitch still need measurement.
The sample is here to make the budget useful before that measuring work. Keep it if you are unsure, then discuss the actual roof with us during an inspection.

Roof cost calculator FAQs
How do I use the budget range?
Use the result to plan an asphalt replacement budget. A free inspection helps define the work your roof needs.
Can I enter the square footage of my home?
Not as though it were a roof measurement. Total living space can include several floors, while garages and porches can add roof outside that living space. Keep the example unless you already have the roof footprint or surface area.
Does a steeper pitch change every price?
Pitch changes the sloped area when you select footprint. With known roof-surface area, changing pitch does not add area. Steep-roof labor and setup need separate allowances.
Does this calculator price a commercial flat roof?
No. The model is for an asphalt-shingle replacement example. Commercial membranes, insulation and drainage require a different scope. Read about commercial roofing or tell us about the building.
